Author's Celebration

We've been working hard to write stories with:

a beginning, middle, and end

exciting details

spaces, capitals, and periods

neat handwriting


And we've done a great job!

Students picked their favorite story to date and worked on "fixing it up" or editing it and then we shared our work with the class. We had some very proud authors!

Work Hard, Play Hard!

We definitely worked hard last week... I hope everyone was able to play hard this weekend! Happy Labor Day!

Week 4

Another week has come and gone. Here are some pictures from our classroom. (Everything from shaking hands at Morning Meeting, to LetterLand word sorts, to adding details to our stories, to learning new vocabulary words (stamina, sequence, citizen), to TAKING OUR FIRST SPELLING TEST!!! eeeeeek!) 

These Vance Panthers are doing an AWESOME job! Relax and enjoy the weekend:)

Pajama Day is Friday! Please allow our first graders to wear their pajamas to school this Friday (8/15). They may also bring one small stuffed animal to school. The stuffed animal must be able to fit in their bookbags. 

Time flies!

Can you believe we are about to start our 3rd week of 1st grade?! Wow!!! We have been very busy bees in room 307! We've been WORKING RESPONSIBLY during morning meeting, daily 5 centers, math centers, reading assessments, and social studies (someone has to teach "No David" to PROWL!)
